The third annual Hot Pursuit 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Catch a Cop wheelchair swing fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Pickens Doodle Park, located at 415 East Cedar Rock Street.

The 1-Mile Catch a Cop event will begin at 9 a.m. and is free to children in fifth grade and under.

The 5K Run/Walk will start at 9:20 a.m., and registration is $30.

The Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) is partnering with local law enforcement, including the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, the Pickens Police Department, the Central Police Department, the Clemson Police Department, the Clemson University Police Department, the Easley Police Department, the Liberty Police Department, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

All funds that are raised from the event will go toward the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible swing in the Clemson area. Previous Hot Pursuit 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Catch a Cop events have raised funds for a wheelchair-accessible swing at the Pickens Doodle Park and a wheelchair-accessible swing at the Easley Doodle Park.
