Ms. Wheelchair South Carolina organization honors Sheriff's Office, Pickens Police Department, and Youth Leadership Academy with Outstanding Community Service Award for raising more than $50,000 for wheelchair-accessible swings

The night of Saturday, January 18, 2025, Pickens County Sheriff Tommy Blankenship and the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Randal Beach and the Pickens Police Department, and the Youth Leadership Academy were recognized for their work on the Hot Pursuit 5K/Chase a Cop, which has raised more than $50,000 and has placed two wheelchair accessible swings in Pickens County. The project received the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Ms. Wheelchair South Carolina organization.
This year’s race is scheduled for April 12 as all work together to place a third wheelchair accessible swing in the Clemson area.
