The 2024 Wreaths Across America ceremony at Sunrise Cemetery in Pickens was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14.

“This is a national program that starts at Arlington and impacts cemeteries across the nation,” Pickens Police Chief Randal Beach, who organized the ceremony for the city-owned cemetery, told The Pickens County Chronicle. ‘I’m a veteran. A lot of officers here are veterans. There is that camaraderie importance, but there is a biblical importance, for the families and everyone in the community, that we honor our deceased veterans.”
