The Town of Central and The Central Volunteer Fire Department are proud to announce that this year’s Grand Marshal for the Central Christmas Parade will be Mr. Chaz Paxton and his D.W. Daniel Lions Pride Marching Band while we honor them for another State Championship.
The parade is Friday, December 6 at 6:30 pm. Lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Cannon Memorial Baptist Church, 120 Pepper Street. The parade will then go through town on Main Street and will end at the Mt. Zion Cemetery area.
Special events begin at 5 p.m. at the Train Caboose and stage area on Main Street. Bring your chair and enjoy live music, free hot chocolate, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus, who will be at the Christmas Tree at the Caboose starting at 5 p.m. to visit with the kids. Bring your camera to get all of the pictures you want of this special time. They have to leave at 6:15 p.m. to join the parade as our special guests, so come early.
Free hot chocolate, sponsored by the Central Fire Department, will be at the tent at the Caboose.
Our special Christmas music starts at 5 p.m. with a favorite of the Town, local musician Augustus Hedden, who is renowned for his saxophone.
And we kick off the season as Mayor Beckner conducts the Annual Tree Lighting with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at 6 p.m. at the Caboose.
