Semper Fi Barn to hold honor ceremony February 23 to remember Battle of Iwo Jima
The Semper Fi Barn, A Veteran Retreat in Six Mile, will hold an honor ceremony on Sunday, February 23 at 3 p.m. to remember those who died and all who fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima, one of the bloodiest battles in Marine Corps history. The Battle of Iwo Jima was fought February 19 through March 26, 1945.
Also, every day from February 19 through March 26, Semper Fi Barn will hang dog tags to remember soldiers who fought at the Battle of Iwo Jima, including a specially designated gold dog tag for Medal of Honor recipients. Semper Fi Barn is seeking veterans, volunteers, corporate sponsors, or interested families to stop by to be a part of this special time when a dog tag is hung, to remember or reflect upon their sacrifice. You can choose a day that is convenient. Please contact Semper Fi Barn at semperfibarn@gmail.com or by calling 864-643-9197. Pre-arrangement is appreciated.
Semper Fi Barn is located at 314 Furman L. Smith Memorial Highway.
