The opening reception is Saturday, September 7 at noon.
Do not miss the chance to be one of the first to see Plein Air in Plain Sight, the first art exhibition in the newly renovated galleries at the museum. This exhibition features incredible work from the members of Plein Air Painters Carolina.
“Painting “en plein air” – the French term for the act of painting outdoors – is the fastest growing art movement across the world, encompassing tens of thousands of artists and hundreds of paint-outs, competitions, and exhibits annually.
This exhibition and sale are a compilation of the work of the members of Plein Air Painters Carolina. Each composition is hand-painted by the artist and completed either entirely “en plein air” or from a plein air study or plein air experience.
In the gallery, you will find some of the best artists… from the mountains to the seashore! Some of our artists are professional plein air artists, some are primarily studio artists, and some of our artists are new to the world of plein air! There is room for everyone!”
