Pickens Police Chief Randal Beach was presented the Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award by Duke Energy’s Trent Acker during the Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

From The Pickens Police Department: “If you know our fearless leader, then you know exactly why he is more than deserving of this award. Chief Beach goes above and beyond in our community to build relationships and support young people in their journey through life. Chief has created an annual “Goats on the Run” scavenger hunt for kids, plays bluegrass with our youth, received the ATF Lifetime Achievement Award, teaches a youth group Sunday school class, stays involved with the youth board and high school sports, and has poured his heart into our community. Chief is the first one to work and the last one to leave, incredible leader, friend, and role model. We could write a book about all the great things Chief does in our community but the best way to understand is to know him and see his love for our community. Thank you, Chief, and congratulations on this well deserved award!”

From The Hiding Place: “Well deserved! We are so grateful for such an incredibly kind-hearted, community loving Chief in Pickens City! He has shown up time and time again for survivors we have served!”

From Pickens County Youth Board: “Another one who is so very supportive of everything we do! Well-deserved, Chief! Congrats!”
