The Youth Leadership Academy’s third annual Hot Pursuit 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Catch-a-Cop event, held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Pickens Doodle Park, raised funds toward a third wheelchair-accessible swing in Pickens County, the next one in Clemson. The first two wheelchair-accessible swings were installed at the Pickens Doodle Park and the Easley Doodle Park.

Law enforcement officers from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and Police Departments throughout Pickens County joined up with race participants and sponsors to raise funds and have a great time.

The one-mile catch-a-cop race was free for children in fifth grade and younger, and the children enjoyed riding back to the Doodle Park in a procession of law enforcement vehicles.
