Holly Springs Center was the setting for a reunion of former students, faculty, and staff of the former Holly Springs Elementary School, as well as members of the Holly Springs community, north of Pickens off Highway 178. The Saturday, May 3, 2025 reunion, celebrating seven decades of the current building, included many activities and the sharing of memories.
The building that is now home to the Holly Springs Center opened in 1954 as the third building that was Holly Springs Elementary School. (The first Holly Springs Elementary School opened in 1881.) The school closed in 2016 due to consolidation but reopened as the Holly Springs Center, a School of Mountain Arts and Heritage, offering classes in pottery making, woodworking, music, ceramics, weaving, beekeeping, painting, stained glass, and much more. Holly Springs Center also offers a preschool.
