Flu remains at a high level in South Carolina week ending February 8

According to the South Carolina Department of Public Health, widespread flu activity continues throghout the state. Reports have been received from 22 counties for the week ending Saturday, February 8, and the South Carolina Department of Public Health released the data this week.
For the week ending February 8, 2025, 8,232 lab-confirmed tests were reported, and 1,230 flu-related hospitalizations were reported by 67 hospitals.
For the week ending February 8, 2025, 37 flu-related deaths were reported, although 10 of those deaths occured in previous weeks and 27 deaths occurred the week ending February 8. This flu season, 104 flu-related deaths have been reported in South Carolina, with 47 of those deaths in the Upstate.
