On May 1, 2025, Trent Acker, Duke Energy District Manager – Government and Community Relations, presented a $3,500 grant to Pickens Parks and Recreation at the Pickens Doodle Trail. This funding is part of the Duke Energy Foundation’s statewide initiative to support trail improvements, litter cleanup, and tree planting across South Carolina. These funds will go directly toward repainting and repairing trail markers and installing new safety features—helping make the Doodle Trail even better for everyone in our community. The City of Pickens is grateful for partners such as Duke Energy, for sharing the commitment to keeping Pickens beautiful, safe, and moving forward. A big thank you to Duke Energy and the Duke Energy Foundation.
