2025 Annual Meeting Drive-Thru Set for Thursday, April 10

The 2025 Annual Meeting of Members of Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, Inc. will use a special drive-thru registration, voting and gift giveaways at our Pickens and Oconee offices on Thursday, April 10, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.


For the business portion of the Annual Meeting, you will find a link on our website at blueridge.coop to watch a video of the Cooperative Board and Management report.


The following matters will be acted upon at the Annual Meeting:

  • The report of the Cooperative Board and Management;
  • A resolution by the Board to amend the Cooperative’s Bylaws; and
  • All other business that may come before the Annual Meeting and any adjournment(s) thereof.

Modification to the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, Inc. Bylaws Proposed for 2025 Annual Meeting

Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative encourages you to review the proposed bylaw changes that will be voted on at the Annual Meeting of Members. As a reminder, you can view the current bylaws by clicking here.


Below are the latest proposed modifications to the bylaws. 

  1. Modify Section 3.07 (a) [Nomination at District Meetings] by adding a requirement for advance notice of nomination in order to assess compliance with the requirements for becoming or remaining a Trustee.
    1. ADD: Names of persons to be nominated at the District Meeting must be submitted to the Cooperative in advance to provide an opportunity to determine compliance with the requirements of Section 4.02 of the Cooperative bylaws. The submission must be in writing and shall include the name and home address of the prospective nominee. It must be received by the cooperative no later than 10 days prior to the District Meeting. Failure to provide the required information in advance shall disqualify the person from nomination at the annual meeting. 
  2. Modify Section 4.02 (a) [Qualification and Tenure] to expand the requirements for Trustee to require 3 years of cooperative membership instead of 2 years as a qualification.
    1. ADD: Change “2” to “3” in the section so that it reads as follows: “is not a Member of the Cooperative in good standing to include any delinquencies for at least Three (3) years and a bona fide principal resident fo the particular district where he or she is to represent; or”

 

Drive-Thru for Registration, Voting & Gift Giveaways

Each member who drive-thru registers will receive a 14-in-1 Ratcheting Magnetic Screwdriver and a goody bag. Registration automatically enters members into the prize drawings. Please bring your REGISTRATION CARD (found on the lower front cover of the March 2025 issue of South Carolina Living) and PICTURE ID with you when you drive-thru register.

This year’s grand prize is a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab. Other prize drawings include a 40-inch Vizio Smart TV, a 10.9-inch 64 GB iPad and a 35 Yeti Tundra Cooler.
