In 2026, the United States of America will celebrate the 250th birthday of our country. The South Carolina General Assembly has established the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC 250) “to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary era and showcase South Carolina’s significant contributions to securing America’s independence.” Each of South Carolina’s 46 counties has a committee to promote each county’s role in the American Revolution.
