Kathryn Hicks, who, earlier this year, was chosen as Ms. Wheelchair South Carolina, had planned to ride in the Christmas Parade in her hometown of Six Mile on Saturday, December 7, 2024, but she was contacted by the Parade Director and asked to be the Grand Marshal. “I was completely shocked and truly honored that they chose me,” Kathryn stated. “I love my small town, and getting to represent it means so much. Six Mile’s Christmas Parade is always fun.” She thanked the parade committee for choosing her as Grand Marshal. And she thanked her sister Felicia Dowdal and her grandmother, Virginia Holliday, for driving her, thanked her mother, Karen Hicks, for decorating the float, and thanked her niece, Emma Dowdal, for throwing out the candy.
