Vic Tetter has officially been appointed as Police Chief for the City of Liberty. Chief Tetter brings more than 27 years of law enforcement experience, including 11 years in upper-level police leadership. He joined the City of Liberty in 2013, earned a promotion to Captain in 2017, and has been serving as interim Police Chief since September 2024.
During his time as interim Chief, he made a lasting impact by enhancing public safety and community outreach, boosting department morale, and building strong partnerships with neighboring agencies. His dedication and leadership have already made a difference.
Chief Tetter was officially sworn in on April 14 by Clerk to Council Bailee Locke. His wife, Sarah, pinned his badge.
Liberty Mayor Erica Romo Woods commented, “As Mayor, I am proud and honored to have appointed Chief Tetter to this position. I look forward to seeing great things in our police department and community under his leadership. He had a great show of support by the Liberty and neighboring police departments, friends, and family.”
