“This is close to the 23rd year that we’ve been doing this, and it’s just been getting better and better every year,” Hagood Mill Director Billy Crawford told The Pickens County Chronicle. “Some of these folks have been coming out here every year for 23 years. I’ve been here now for 11 and a half years. There are people who have been here twice as long, coming to this Native American festival.” He said that some have gotten older and that some have passed on, but the traditions have been passed down to the younger ones. “They’re taking up the reins and keeping the drums alive for these Native American shows,” he said. “We’re just so proud to be able to be a host site for such a special event for us here at Hagood Mill.”
