SCDOT gives update on Crowe Creek Bridge

On September 24, 2025, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) gave the following update regarding the bridge over Crowe Creek:

Earlier this summer, the SC 133 bridge over Crowe Creek sustained significant damage that led to its closure. Since then, SCDOT and partners have been working diligently to replace the bridge and reopen it to traffic.

Crews are preparing the site for construction by building temporary platforms needed to efficiently and safely perform the replacement work. Crews have also installed turbidity curtains, which are barriers that protect the environment around the site by containing sediment and debris that may be created throughout the ongoing work.

The bridge is expected to reopen next year.
