Pickens County Journalism Since 1999
Pickens County’s own Greenville-Pickens Speedway, the site of the first nationally televised start to finish live NASCAR race (on April 10, 1971), is near and dear to the hearts of racing fans and many others in the local community and beyond, and the campaign continues to preserve this historic track from destruction.
An event is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at District Park, located at 201 Kay Drive, off Highway 123, in Easley and will feature race cars, food trucks, t-shirts, South Carolina Representative Neal Collins from Easley, and South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.
