Kimberly Robson is Named Next Principal at West End Elementary School

On Friday, April 12, 2024, the School District of Pickens County Board of Trustees approved the superintendent’s recommendation for Mrs. Kimberly Robson to become the next principal of West End Elementary School, starting with the 2024-2025 school year. This appointment follows the retirement of Dr. Angie Garrison, who has served as the principal since 2007.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kimberly Robson as the new principal of West End Elementary,” said Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck. “Kimberly’s extensive background in education, leadership skills, and dedication to student success make her the ideal candidate to continue the legacy of excellence at West End Elementary.”

Robson brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Since July 2022, she has served as the assistant principal at Crosswell Elementary School. Prior to that, she held various positions within the School District of Pickens County, including director of Camp iRock R2S Summer Reading Camp, instructional coach, and fourth grade teacher at West End Elementary School. Her educational journey began as an English as a Second Language Teacher and a first and fourth grade teacher in Anderson School District Five.

Throughout her career, Robson has been recognized for her contributions to education, including being named West End Elementary School Teacher of the Year for 2020-2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Anderson University and a Master of Education in Reading with a focus in ESOL from Clemson University. She also completed her Principal Certification Program at Lamar University.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the principal of West End Elementary School,” said Robson. “West End was my home for eleven years, and I look forward to returning to collaborate with the teachers, staff, students, and parents to build upon the strong foundation established by Dr. Garrison by continuing to provide a high-quality education that develops our students’ knowledge and skills for success in an ever-changing world.”

Robson, her husband, Desmond, and their two children, Leighton and Flynn, reside in Easley. She will begin her new role as principal of West End Elementary School on July 1, 2024.
