Juneteenth Festival to include butterfly release at Fort Hill on Clemson campus

Clemson University Historic Properties will collaborate with community and campus partners to remember and honor the 139 enslaved individuals who were emancipated at Fort Hill at the end of the Civil War. The event will be held at noon on Friday, June 19, with a reading of their names and butterfly release.

Other celebrations will take place across campus, including tours, artisan marketplace, and artistic performances.
