The Hiding Place to present Taking Back Our Voices Showcase Tuesday, October 27
The Hiding Place will present Taking Back Our Voices Showcase at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at The Mill Church, located at 158 Woodrow Street in Pickens.
This event is dedicated to reclaiming the voices, words, stories, and parts of ourselves that abuse tried to silence. Through poetry, the spoken word, journal readings, storytelling, and other creative expressions, survivors and members of the community will take the mic and share pieces of truth, strength, grief, healing, and hope. Some will speak. Some will read. Some will simply listen. Every voice belongs in the room. For every voice that was silenced, for every story someone else tried to write, for person learning to speak again, on this night, we take our voices back.
