SCDOT to close Pumpkintown Highway bridge on June 1 for routine repairs and upgrades, project expected to be completed by end of summer

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close Pumpkintown Highway (SC-8) bridge over Oolenoy River in Pickens County beginning June 1.

The closure allows for routine repairs and upgrades to improve overall safety.

Weather dependent, the project should be completed by the end of the summer.

Motorists will utilize Highway 11, Highway 178 (Moorefield Memorial Highway), and Main Street for detours as indicated on the map below.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
