The Foothills Civitan Club will hold the third annual Upstate Field of Honor September 11-18, with a field of American flags honoring American heroes, including military, first responders, law enforcement, or other personal heroes. The event will be held at the field adjacent to the Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, 1308 Griffin Mill Road.

In celebration of America’s 250th birthday this year, organizers have a goal of having 250 American flags flying, each flag dedicated in memory of or in honor of a local hero.

To sponsor a flag, or to become an event sponsor, contact the Foothills Civitian Club or visit the Field of Honor’s website at https://www.healingfield.org/event/easley-sc/easley-sc/.   Proceeds will benefit the Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs.

The event is free, and more details will be published in The Chronicle between now and September.
