Inaugural Palmetto Jump Games to spotlight elite field talent in Upstate South Carolina

This Saturday, March 14, 2026, the inaugural Palmetto Jump Games will transform Liberty High School into a premier stage for some of the Southeast’s top field athletes. Sanctioned by USA Track & Field (USATF), this specialized competition breaks away from traditional meet formats to focus exclusively on the high jump, long jump, and triple jump.

Founded and directed by former Clemson University dual-sport athlete CJ Davidson (Football and Track and Field), the Palmetto Jump Games address a long-standing gap in the track and field world: the need for a dedicated spotlight on “the pits.”

“Traditionally, field events have been the background noise of track meets,” said Davidson. “The Palmetto Jump Games is about changing the narrative. We are giving these athletes the platform and the atmosphere they truly deserve.”

Elite Talent & National Standouts

The inaugural field features several Division I commits and state champions:

·      Aamari Kelly (Easley HS, Senior): A Converse University track and field commit and reigning Girls 5A Long Jump State Champion. Kelly enters the games as the defending Adidas National Long Jump Champion.

·      Chris Chancellor, Jr. (Daniel HS, Senior): A Clemson Football commit and the reigning 4A Boys State Champion in the triple jump.

·      Jamarius Brown (Dorman HS, Senior): A UConn track and field commit and 5A Boys State Champion in the triple jump.

·      Jamier Gaston (Dorman HS, Senior): A Marshall University  track and field commit currently ranked in the Top 10 nationally in the long jump
