Town of Central issues boil water advisory on October 31
On Friday afternoon, October 31, 2025, the town of Central issued a boil water advisory due to process failures at the Easley/Central Water Treatment Plant which resulted in increased turbidity, colored water. The advisory will be in effect until further notice.
Residents are advised to boil all water vigorously for at least one full minute before drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing food.
Any existing ice made from tap water is to be discarded.
The Town of Central is issuing this advisory out of an abundance of caution, as the water supply originates from the affected facility. This notice will remain in effect until testing confirms that water quality meets all safety standards. The public will be notified once the advisory has been lifted.
