Two petitions seek to save the historic Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

Follow this link to sign a petition to ask Pickens County Council to recognize the racetrack “as a historic site and protect it from demolition or changes that would alter its historic character.” Organizer Tasha Kummer states, “The Speedway is a unique piece of our county’s heritage and should be preserved for future generations.”

Follow this link to sign another petition to save the Greenville-Pickens Speedway. Petition organizer James Meyers states, “So many memories have been made at this track and we can’t let it just get destroyed for a strip mall or whatever they get rid of the track for. Also, this track has a big part in the history of racing, NASCAR, and sports in general. The first ever live televised NASCAR race from start to finish was here. Also, my friends and I have made so many memories at this track.”
