Pickens County Journalism Since 1999
The 2025 Back the Blue K-9 One-Mile Run/Walk will benefit The Hiding Place, which serves victims of domestic violence. Last year, The Hiding Place served more than 350 survivors and more than 150 children through aid in housing placement, counseling, extensive resourcing, advocacy, education, and more.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 on Main Street in front of Pickens First Baptist Church and will finish at The Open Door, where live music by the Jaguar 4 will be enjoyed.
This event welcomes runners and walkers, as well as those who want to participate alongside their furry friends. With an engaging atmosphere and a sense of community, it will be a fun outing for everyone involved.
Participants can look forward to awards for the top three male and female runners, as well as the top five runners with dogs, regardless of gender. A special recognition will also be given to the first First Responder crossing the finish line in uniform. Age group awards will be distributed at 10-year intervals, and every participant will receive a finisher medal! Don’t forget to bring your well-behaved dog to join in the festivities. Enjoy live music from The Jaguar 4 and support a great cause, as all proceeds will benefit The Hiding Place. Be sure to register by September 1 to guarantee your event t-shirt, and join us for a memorable day filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit.
