Rolling Waterwheel Gospel Revue returns to Hagood Mill August 16

The Hagood Mill Historic Site is pleased to announce the return of the Rolling Waterwheel Gospel Revue on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event promises a full day filled with the uplifting sounds of hymns and songs of faith echoing across the historic grounds.

This year’s gospel music lineup features an outstanding slate of performers, including Bluegrass and Company, Heartstrings, Mountain Bridge Band, and The Legendary James Brothers.

The centerpiece of the Hagood Mill Historic Site is the 1845 water-powered gristmill, one of the finest examples of nineteenth-century technology still in operation in the Upcountry. The mill will be running throughout the day, grinding corn just as it has for more than 150 years.

Visitors can also purchase Hagood Mill cookbooks and other mill-related items.

In addition to the joyful music, guests can enjoy a wide array of folklife and traditional arts demonstrations.

Guests can also enjoy a quality artisan market, delicious offerings from food vendors, and a full slate of folk-life and traditional-arts demonstrations, including blacksmithing, chair caning, woodworking, pottery, quilting, spinning, looming, knitting, metalsmithing, leatherworking, and more. Visitors can meet the artists, ask questions, and even purchase handmade traditional crafts.

Admission is just $5 per person, which includes access to both the Hagood Mill Historic Site and the Hagood Creek Petroglyph Site—home to one of the most significant collections of Native American petroglyphs in the Southeast. Children nine and under are free, and there is no charge for parking.

The Hagood Mill Historic Site is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gristmill operates rain or shine on the third Saturday of every month.

Come celebrate faith, tradition, and community in the heart of the South Carolina mountains. We’ll see you at the Mill.

The Hagood Mill Historic Site is located at 138 Hagood Mill Road, off Highway 178, in Pickens.
